Hyderabad Ferrari Crash: CCTV Footage Reveals Dramatic High-Speed Collision Sequence

In a startling incident that has captured public attention, CCTV footage of a dramatic crash involving a speeding Ferrari in Hyderabad's upscale Jubilee Hills area surfaced on Wednesday. The visuals provide crucial insights into the sequence of events that unfolded on Sunday morning, resulting in five people sustaining injuries and multiple vehicles being damaged.

The Crash Sequence: From Mechanical Failure to Chain Collision

The CCTV footage shows the luxury sports car, identified as a Ferrari California T registered in November 2017, hurtling down Road No. 45 at high speed. According to police reports, the vehicle was being driven by Kranthi Reddy (30), a city-based businessman, who was traveling with his wife to attend a wedding.

Preliminary investigations indicate possible mechanical failures, including brake malfunction and steering issues, which allegedly caused Reddy to lose control of the vehicle. The footage captures the moment the Ferrari first swerved out of control, ramming into an electric pole before veering across the road into the opposite lane.

The impact triggered a chain collision as the Ferrari crashed head-on with vehicles approaching from the opposite direction. Several vehicles were damaged in the incident, including two cars and three two-wheelers, creating panic among motorists and passersby in the normally tranquil neighborhood.

Injuries and Police Response

Five people sustained injuries in the crash, with Reddy and his wife among those hurt. Three occupants of another car—identified as Upasana Saxena, Priya Saxena, and Anil Saxena—suffered minor injuries and were promptly shifted to a nearby private hospital. Medical reports confirm their condition is stable.

Jubilee Hills police have registered a case against Reddy under Section 281 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) for rash and negligent driving and endangering human life. Reddy has been taken into custody as the investigation progresses.

Investigation Focus: Speed, Traffic Conditions, and Mechanical Defects

Inspector Srinivasulu Reddy, overseeing the investigation, stated that multiple factors are being examined. "The vehicle was moving at high speed in moderate traffic conditions," he explained. "CCTV footage and forensic inspection will help determine the exact cause of the accident."

The investigation is particularly focused on reconciling witness accounts with technical evidence regarding the suspected mechanical defects. Police are examining whether the high-speed driving exacerbated existing vehicle issues or if the mechanical failure occurred independently.

Traffic Disruption and Neighborhood Impact

The accident caused significant traffic congestion in Jubilee Hills, with movement disrupted for over an hour as emergency services responded to the scene. Police imposed diversions and managed traffic flow until the damaged vehicles and debris could be cleared from the road.

The incident has raised concerns about road safety in Hyderabad's affluent neighborhoods, where high-performance vehicles are increasingly common. Residents have called for stricter enforcement of traffic regulations and better monitoring of vehicle maintenance standards.

As the investigation continues, authorities are combining technological evidence from the CCTV footage with traditional investigative methods to build a comprehensive understanding of what caused this dramatic crash that injured five people and damaged multiple vehicles in one of Hyderabad's most prominent areas.
