Indore MBA Student Murder Case Takes Macabre Turn with Occult Elements
Police in Indore have uncovered disturbing details in their investigation into the murder of a 24-year-old MBA student, revealing that the accused allegedly purchased beer after killing her, returned to drink beside her body, sexually assaulted the corpse, and later attempted occult practices to communicate with her spirit.
Chilling Sequence of Events Revealed During Interrogation
According to Deputy Commissioner of Police Krishna Lalchandani, the arrested accused Piyush Dhamnodiya confessed during interrogation that he first restrained the victim by tying her hands and legs, stuffed cloth into her mouth, and then strangled her inside his rented room in Indore's Dwarkapuri area. After confirming she had died, Dhamnodiya left the premises, bought beer bottles, and returned to consume alcohol while sitting beside the deceased woman's body.
The accused then engaged in necrophilia, sexually assaulting the corpse before stabbing the victim in the chest and fleeing the scene. Police recovered the young woman's body on February 13, three days after she was reported missing, from the room rented by Dhamnodiya, who was both her boyfriend and classmate.
Erratic Behavior and Occult Practices During Escape
Investigators described Dhamnodiya's behavior after the crime as highly erratic. The accused fled Indore by train, frequently changing transportation before reaching Mumbai, where police traced and arrested him from Andheri on February 14.
During his escape, Dhamnodiya traveled to a deserted location near Panvel in Mumbai where he lit incense sticks and watched online videos about summoning spirits. In the darkness, he allegedly muttered apologies and expressed a desire to communicate with the victim's spirit within hours of committing the murder.
Police revealed that Dhamnodiya claimed during questioning that he had attempted to jump in front of a train to kill himself but ultimately could not follow through with the act. Investigators also discovered that the accused had been consuming occult content online and searching for suicide methods, though he never acted on those searches prior to the murder.
Interrogation Revelations and Crime Scene Recreation
During interrogation at Dwarkapuri police station, Dhamnodiya requested a blank sheet of paper and wrote that he had committed a grave wrong and wanted to die. He repeatedly claimed to love the victim and asked officers to allow him to meet her, displaying what investigators described as contradictory behavior.
Police also learned that Dhamnodiya suspected the victim was communicating with other men, which may have contributed to the tragic incident. Meanwhile, Dwarkapuri police took the accused to the crime scene where they seized items used in the commission of the crime and recreated the sequence of events for investigative purposes.
Deputy Commissioner of Police Krishna Lalchandani confirmed that the accused will be produced before the court on Wednesday as the investigation continues to uncover additional details about this deeply disturbing case that has shocked the Indore community.
