Jaipur Police Arrest Trio for Kidnapping, Assaulting, and Robbing Pedestrians
In a significant crackdown on late-night criminal activities, the Kardhani police in Jaipur arrested three men on Monday for their alleged involvement in kidnapping, assaulting, and robbing pedestrians across the city. The arrests followed a series of incidents that had raised safety concerns among residents.
Details of the Arrest and Seizure
During the operation, police recovered a country-made pistol and four live cartridges from the possession of the accused. Deputy Commissioner of Police (west) Hanuman Prasad Meena confirmed the seizure and stated that the source of the weapon is under examination. "We are probing whether the accused operated independently or were linked to a larger criminal gang. The recovery of the firearm raised concerns about the possible involvement of organised elements," Meena said.
Identification of the Accused
The arrested individuals have been identified as Lokesh Singh Shekhawat (21) and Sunny alias Sahil (21), both residents of Machhi Market in Jhotwara, and Raghav Khandelwal alias Ravi (22), a resident of Nangal Jaisa Bohra in Khorabeesal. Police investigations revealed that the trio had been active in criminal activities for some time, with records showing multiple cases registered against Sunny alias Sahil for similar offenses.
Criminal Background and Possible Gang Links
Further scrutiny uncovered that Lokesh is the younger brother of Azad Singh Gudha, a history-sheeter currently lodged in Rohtak Jail, Haryana, in connection with a police firing case reported in August 2025. Sources indicated that this familial link is being examined from an intelligence and criminal network perspective to determine any broader connections.

Modus Operandi of the Accused
According to police statements, the accused would patrol isolated roads, identify lone commuters, and force them into a vehicle. "The victims were allegedly taken to secluded locations, assaulted and robbed of cash and mobile phones. After committing the crime, the accused would abandon the victims and flee," the officer added, detailing the brutal nature of their operations.
Ongoing Investigations and Future Steps
Further interrogation is currently underway to verify the trio's links with more cases and trace possible accomplices. Police are also examining the seized firearm's origins and exploring potential connections to organized crime networks to ensure comprehensive justice and prevent future incidents.
