In a tragic incident, a senior transport official in Punjab was discovered deceased at his residence in Jalandhar. Ravinder Singh Gill, a 54-year-old Regional Transport Authority (RTA) officer, was found unresponsive in the bathroom of his apartment on Tuesday, December 31, 2025.

The sequence of events began when Gill did not emerge from his flat at Jalandhar Heights in the morning. His driver and gunman, growing concerned, entered the home. They found the officer lying unconscious behind the bathroom door and promptly alerted the police.
A team from the Sadar Police Station swiftly arrived at the location. The body was taken into custody for a thorough investigation. Sanjeev Kumar, the Station House Officer (SHO), stated that while initial observations point towards a possible cardiac arrest, authorities are leaving no stone unturned.

Ravinder Singh Gill leaves behind his wife and two sons. The family was recently celebrating as one of his sons got married just a few days prior to the unfortunate event. After the discovery, family members traveled to Jalandhar and subsequently transported his body to their native place in Bathinda for the final rites.
Gill had a notable career in the transport department. He previously served as a motor vehicle inspector in Bathinda. Following a promotion, he was posted at the head office in Chandigarh. Recently, he was given the additional charge of RTA in Jalandhar, marking a significant responsibility in his professional journey.
