In a significant counter-terrorism operation, security forces in Jammu and Kashmir successfully dismantled a hideout used by the banned Jaish-e-Mohammad (JeM) outfit in Pulwama district on Friday. The operation led to the arrest of a key terrorist associate involved in providing logistical support to militants in the region.
Operation Details and Arrest
Acting on specific intelligence about terrorist presence in the Naner Midoora area of south Kashmir's Pulwama district, a joint team of Awantipora Police and security forces launched a meticulous cordon and search operation. Police investigations confirmed that Ganai was an active associate of the JeM terror group. Following his arrest, intensive questioning revealed crucial information about a concealed terrorist hideout.
Hideout Busted and Arms Recovered
The investigation led security forces to a hidden JeM hideout located in orchards belonging to the arrested accused. Upon discovery, the security team immediately moved to bust the facility. A subsequent search of the site yielded a significant cache of arms and explosives.
The recovered materials included:
- Two hand grenades
- One detonator
