Kashmiri Students Face Backlash Following Delhi Explosion
The Jammu and Kashmir Students Association (JKSA) has raised serious concerns about the treatment of Kashmiri students in Delhi following the recent blast in the capital. The organization has appealed to Prime Minister Narendra Modi for immediate intervention, alleging that Kashmiri students are facing collective suspicion and harassment in the aftermath of the security incident.
Widespread Eviction Reports Emerge
According to JKSA spokesperson Nasir Khuehami, numerous Kashmiri students have been asked to vacate their rented accommodations by landlords fearing potential security risks. Several students have already returned home due to fear and the inability to find alternative housing in the current climate.
"Many landlords have asked Kashmiri tenants to vacate their rooms, forcing several students to return home out of fear," Khuehami stated in his appeal dated 17 November 2025. The situation has created an atmosphere of anxiety and uncertainty among the student community from Jammu and Kashmir.
Appeal for Prime Minister's Intervention
The JKSA has formally sought the Prime Minister's office to address what they describe as unjust collective punishment of Kashmiri students. The association emphasizes that individual actions should not lead to blanket suspicion against an entire community.
The organization argues that such reactions undermine the integration and educational opportunities of Kashmiri youth pursuing higher education in India's capital. They have requested immediate measures to ensure the safety and dignity of all students regardless of their regional background.
