Kota Rural Police Tops Rajasthan in 2025 Crime Control with 99.83% Case Disposal
Kota Rural Police leads Rajasthan in crime control for 2025

In a significant achievement for law enforcement in Rajasthan, the Kota Rural Police has reported exceptional performance in crime control and investigation efficiency for the year 2025. The police jurisdiction has not only secured the top position in the state for disposing of cases but also registered a substantial decline in various categories of crime.

Record-Breaking Efficiency in Investigations

Addressing the media on Friday, Superintendent of Police (SP) for Kota (Rural), Sujit Shankar, revealed that his force achieved a remarkable case disposal rate of 99.83% in 2025. This is the highest rate recorded in Rajasthan, which consequently left the pendency of cases at a mere 2.87%. This exceptional performance underscores a highly effective and responsive policing system within the Kota Rural limits.

Substantial Decline in Overall and Serious Crimes

The proactive measures adopted by the police have yielded concrete results in terms of crime prevention. SP Shankar stated that the total number of cognisable offences in the jurisdiction, which spans a triangular area of nearly 90 km, witnessed a 15.81% reduction compared to the figures from 2024. The decline was particularly notable in serious and violent crimes, reflecting the impact of focused enforcement drives.

The detailed breakdown of the crime reduction includes:

  • Murder cases fell by over 23%.
  • Incidents of attempted murder declined by 8.57%.
  • Cases of kidnapping and abduction dropped sharply by 34.53%.
  • Robbery saw a significant decrease of 54.55%.
  • Burglary was reduced by 25.76%.
  • Instances of theft went down by nearly 23%.

Furthermore, crimes against women also showed a positive trend, with overall women-related offences decreasing by 6%.

Special Operations and Public Cooperation

The police credited several innovative initiatives for this success. Under Operation ‘Sudama’, which aimed at reuniting missing persons with their families, a total of 150 missing persons were successfully traced and reunited with their loved ones.

Another community-centric initiative, ‘Operation 5-25’, played a crucial role in crime prevention. This involved creating WhatsApp groups administered by beat constables, with each group including five individuals with a criminal record and 25 responsible civilians from the local beat area. This model fostered direct communication and helped in preventing crimes through active public cooperation.

Crackdown on Narcotics and Drug Trafficking

The Kota Rural Police also intensified its action against the drug trade. In 2025, the force registered a total of 133 cases under the NDPS Act. This led to the arrest of 195 accused and the seizure of large quantities of illegal narcotics. The seized substances included Doda Chura, Ganja, Smack, opium, and Charas, marking a significant blow to the local drug trafficking networks.

The combined results from 2025 position the Kota Rural Police as a leading force in Rajasthan, demonstrating that a mix of technological outreach, community engagement, and rigorous enforcement can lead to substantial improvements in public safety and law enforcement outcomes.
