Shocking Surgical Blade Attack in Lucknow Leaves Man with 18 Stitches

In a disturbing incident from Lucknow's Para locality, a 25-year-old man narrowly escaped death after his girlfriend's brothers allegedly entered his home under false pretenses and attacked him with a surgical blade, inflicting a deep neck wound that required extensive medical treatment.

Violent Home Invasion Under Guise of Gift Delivery

The terrifying episode unfolded on Sunday evening in Khushhalganj area of Para, where the victim, identified as Mahendra Kannaujia (25), was reportedly in a relationship with 27-year-old Sunedha Gautam from Kakori. According to the First Information Report filed by Mahendra's father Santu, the woman had been invited to their residence on February 15 for discussions about the relationship.

Instead of the woman appearing, her brothers Shivam Gautam (27) and Anurag Gautam (19) allegedly arrived at the house gate, claiming they had brought a gift. Once permitted entry, they proceeded to the verandah where they suddenly launched their violent assault on Mahendra.

Father's Account of the Brutal Attack

"They overpowered my son, threw him to the ground, and slit his throat with a surgical blade," Santu stated in his official complaint to authorities. The suddenness and brutality of the attack created immediate panic within the household.

Mahendra's father and uncle quickly intervened, managing to wrest the surgical blade from the attackers and overpower both brothers before summoning police assistance. The victim lost consciousness due to severe bleeding from the neck wound and was urgently transported to a nearby private medical facility.

Medical Treatment and Police Response

Doctors at the hospital administered 18 stitches to close the deep laceration on Mahendra's neck. Medical professionals have confirmed that his condition is now stable and he is out of immediate danger following the emergency treatment.

Police have registered a formal case under multiple sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, including:

  • Section 109(1) for attempt to murder
  • Section 333 for house trespass
  • Other relevant legal provisions

Para station house officer Suresh Singh verified that both accused individuals were detained and subjected to questioning following the incident. "Legal action will be taken based on the findings of the investigation," the SHO declared, emphasizing the seriousness with which authorities are treating the violent home invasion.

Broader Implications and Community Impact

This shocking incident has raised concerns about relationship-related violence and home security in residential areas. The calculated nature of the attack, involving deception to gain entry followed by sudden violence with a surgical instrument, has particularly alarmed local residents.

The case continues to develop as police conduct their investigation into the motives behind the alleged attack and examine all circumstances surrounding the relationship between the involved parties. Community members have expressed relief that quick intervention by family members prevented potentially fatal consequences from the neck injury.
