In a decisive move to strengthen the security framework across the district, Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Darpan Ahluwalia executed a series of unannounced midnight inspections targeting police stations and strategic checkpoints. The operation, characterized as a "high-alert sweep," aimed to ensure that law enforcement personnel remain vigilant and fully operational during the vulnerable late-night hours.
Comprehensive Audit of Police Stations and Checkpoints
The SSP's inspections were far from superficial. Dr. Ahluwalia personally visited key areas including Samrala and Machhiwara Sahib, conducting a thorough audit of internal infrastructure essential for rapid response. This involved meticulous checks on staff attendance to confirm that officers were genuinely "on duty" as required.
Operational readiness was a primary focus, with the SSP examining the current condition of weapons and safety gear to ensure they were functional and properly maintained. Additionally, the functionality of CCTV systems within police stations was reviewed to guarantee continuous digital monitoring, enhancing accountability and surveillance capabilities.

During the inspections, SSP Ahluwalia issued a stern warning against any form of professional negligence. This message was reinforced during visits to highway checkpoints (nakas), where the SSP interacted directly with ground teams to refine vehicle-searching procedures and boost morale.

The objective is to create a visible deterrent against criminal elements who often exploit the cover of darkness for illicit activities, thereby enhancing public safety across Ludhiana.
Commending the alert and professional staff encountered during the inspections, SSP Ahluwalia urged them to maintain their momentum. "Public safety remains our top priority," she noted, while motivating the force to exercise "extra caution" in vulnerable pockets of the district. She reiterated that any attempts to disrupt law and order would be met with a firm and uncompromising response.
In a direct appeal to the community, the SSP called upon residents of Khanna to actively cooperate with law enforcement. She encouraged them to report any suspicious movements immediately to the police control room or the nearest station, fostering a collaborative effort to safeguard the district.
