Mahendragarh Police Dismantle International Drug Network in Major Crackdown

In a significant blow to narcotics trafficking in Haryana, the Mahendragarh district police have successfully dismantled a sophisticated drug syndicate, arresting 11 accused individuals, including a Nigerian national identified as a key supplier. This operation was part of a special anti-drug drive conducted under the direct supervision of Superintendent of Police Deepak Jewaria, demonstrating the department's zero-tolerance approach towards drug-related crimes.

Massive Seizures and Multiple Cases Registered

The police action resulted in the seizure of substantial quantities of illegal substances and assets. Authorities confiscated 33 grams of heroin (commonly known as 'chitta'), 63 grams of ganja, 220 intoxicant capsules, and counterfeit currency. As part of their comprehensive campaign, police registered four separate cases against the accused, highlighting the scale and seriousness of the operation.

Detailed Investigation Unravels Supply Chain

The breakthrough came when the CIA Narnaul unit initially arrested a local peddler named Dinesh from Takht Bawri on March 13. During this arrest, police recovered 19 grams of smack (a form of heroin) along with ₹13,900 in cash. This initial success provided crucial leads that enabled investigators to trace the entire supply chain through a network of intermediaries.

Following meticulous investigation, police identified and arrested three key intermediaries—Himanshu, Vinod, and Rinku—who were facilitating the drug distribution. The investigation ultimately led to the arrest of Nigerian national Ikechukwu, a resident of Anambra, on March 31. From Ikechukwu, police seized ₹18,500 in cash, a scooty, and counterfeit "toy notes" with a face value of ₹32,300.

Widespread Raids Across the District

Police conducted multiple coordinated raids across Mahendragarh district as part of their intensified drive against narcotics. On April 10, authorities apprehended Lalaram who was caught selling 63 grams of ganja from an e-rickshaw in Mahendragarh Mandi. The very next day, on April 11, Deepanshu was arrested near the Shiv Mandir area with 18 grams of heroin valued at approximately ₹50,000.

In another successful operation, police arrested Vishal with 15 grams of heroin. His interrogation led authorities to his supplier Punit, resulting in the seizure of a motorcycle that was being used for drug distribution. The crackdown continued on April 13 when Vishnu Dutt was caught with 220 intoxicant capsules. Subsequent interrogation revealed connections to Rajasthan's Singhana area, where Ashok, a medical store operator, was arrested for illegally supplying these capsules.

Criminal Backgrounds and Ongoing Investigation

Police officials revealed that most of the arrested individuals are repeat offenders with prior cases registered against them under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act. Many have records of violent crimes, with several being listed as history-sheeters in police records, indicating their persistent involvement in criminal activities.

Authorities are currently examining the visa status of the Nigerian national Ikechukwu and investigating his potential links to a wider drug network operating across the National Capital Region (NCR). This aspect of the investigation suggests possible international connections to the local drug trade.

Police Commitment and Public Appeal

Superintendent of Police Deepak Jewaria emphasized that the campaign against narcotics will intensify further, with police committed to uprooting the drug network entirely from the region. He made a public appeal urging citizens to share information about any suspicious activities related to drug trafficking, assuring strict confidentiality for informants who come forward with valuable intelligence.

This comprehensive operation represents one of the most significant crackdowns on drug trafficking in Mahendragarh district recently, showcasing coordinated police efforts to combat the menace of narcotics that affects communities across the region. The successful dismantling of this syndicate sends a strong message about law enforcement's determination to tackle organized drug crime at both local and international levels.
