Man Booked for Forging Union Minister's Tour Schedule to Secure State Protocol in Rajasthan

In a startling case of impersonation and fraud, a man in Jaipur has landed in legal trouble for allegedly forging a tour schedule of a junior Union minister in an attempt to secure state protocol facilities across three districts. The incident came to light after the secretariat detected the fraudulent communication and promptly filed a complaint with the police.

Forged Document Circulated to Authorities

According to police reports, the accused, identified as Karan Singh, posed as the Officer on Special Duty (OSD) to the minister and circulated what appeared to be an official tour programme to the authorities. The forged document, dated February 19, claimed that Singh, describing himself as the minister's OSD, would be touring Jaipur, Udaipur, and Rajsamand from February 24 to 26.

The communication explicitly sought government protocol arrangements in these three districts, including facilities typically reserved for dignitaries and high-ranking officials. This raised immediate red flags among secretariat officials, who initiated a verification process.

FIR Registered and Investigation Launched

Upon discovering the discrepancies, the Chief Protocol Officer at the secretariat lodged a formal complaint, leading to the registration of a First Information Report (FIR) at the Ashok Nagar police station on Tuesday. The complaint detailed how the forged schedule was an attempt to misuse official resources and deceive government authorities.

Secretariat officials confirmed that no individual named Karan Singh was appointed as an OSD in the minister's office, exposing the fraud. This revelation prompted swift action from law enforcement agencies.

Police Alert Authorities and Search for Accused

In response to the FIR, police have alerted authorities in Jaipur, Udaipur, and Rajsamand to prevent any potential misuse of protocol facilities. An intensive search operation is currently underway to locate and apprehend Karan Singh, who remains at large. The case highlights the vulnerabilities in protocol systems and the need for stringent verification measures to prevent such impersonation attempts.

This incident serves as a cautionary tale about the lengths to which individuals might go to exploit official channels for personal gain, underscoring the importance of vigilance and thorough checks in governmental processes.
