The Railway Protection Force (RPF) has officially registered a First Information Report (FIR) after a startling incident where a male commuter, disguised in a burqa, was found traveling in the ladies' compartment of a Central Railway local train in Mumbai. This event occurred on Friday and quickly gained widespread attention after a video of the confrontation went viral across various social media platforms. The accused individual remains at large as authorities intensify their search efforts.
Suspicious Passenger Alerted Women Commuters
On Friday afternoon, women passengers aboard a fast local train heading towards Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus (CSMT) grew suspicious of a fellow traveler wearing a burqa in the second-class ladies' coach. Upon questioning, it was revealed that the person was actually a man. The commuters demanded an explanation, asking why he had boarded the ladies' compartment and why he was dressed in a burqa. Several passengers began recording the incident on their mobile phones, documenting the tense exchange.
Dramatic Escape and Police Involvement
The women warned the man that he would be handed over to the police at the next station, Ghatkopar. However, before the train could come to a halt, the man made a daring escape by jumping off the moving coach onto the railway tracks. He then fled towards another platform, where he boarded a Karjat-bound local train. The women promptly disembarked at Ghatkopar station and reported the matter to on-duty police personnel. Authorities reviewed CCTV footage, but the man was not captured on camera. A subsequent check of the Karjat-bound train at Mulund station also proved futile, as the accused had already alighted.

Following the viral circulation of the video on social media, the RPF took decisive action by registering an FIR under the Indian Railways Act for unauthorized travel in a ladies' coach. A comprehensive search operation is currently underway to trace and apprehend the accused.
