Mangaluru Police Crack Down on MDMA Trafficking Network
In a significant operation, the Central Crime Branch (CCB) wing of the Mangaluru police has successfully arrested three individuals accused of procuring MDMA from Bengaluru and attempting to distribute it to the public and students in Ullal taluk. The bust, which took place on Thursday, marks a crucial step in combating drug trafficking in the region.

Acting on credible intelligence, the CCB police launched an operation after receiving information that MDMA was being transported from Bengaluru to Mangaluru and sold from a grey car in the Talapady area of Ullal taluk. City Police Commissioner Sudheer Kumar Reddy confirmed that the team meticulously traced the vehicle while the accused were allegedly in the process of selling the narcotic substance to individuals.
Upon interception, the police took the suspects into custody. The arrested individuals have been identified as Mustafa Sidiyabba, aged 34, Mayyadi, aged 28, and Mohammed Shifan, aged 28, all residents of Ullal. From their possession, authorities seized a substantial quantity of 118.1 grams of MDMA, with an estimated street value of Rs 11.9 lakh.
In addition to the drugs, the police confiscated four mobile phones and the grey car used in the illicit activities. The total value of all seized items, including the vehicle and electronic devices, is estimated to be around Rs 18 lakh. A formal case has been registered at the Ullal police station, and the investigation is now underway to uncover further details of the trafficking network.

Police investigations have revealed that the accused have prior criminal records. Mustafa Sidiyabba was previously involved in a cattle theft case registered at the Kankanady Town police station, while Mayyadi has an assault case registered within the limits of the Ullal police station.
