The Jalandhar Rural Police have successfully cracked a blind murder case reported from Manko village, leading to the arrest of the main accused. The case, which initially had no leads, was solved through swift investigation following the discovery of a blood-stained body in a farmer's field.
Body Discovered in Manko Village Fields
On July 4, the Adampur police received information about the recovery of a blood-stained body from the fields of a farmer in Manko village. Acting promptly, a police team reached the spot and initiated an investigation. The body was later identified as Jagjit Singh, alias Jaggi Mann, a native of Sirhind in Fatehgarh Sahib district, who was residing in Kaddo village, Ludhiana. The deceased was a close friend of the complainant, Dilbag Singh, a resident of Kaddo village in Ludhiana.
FIR Registered and Investigation Launched
Rajeev Kumar, Deputy Superintendent of Police, Adampur, stated that an FIR was registered under Section 103 of the BNS at Adampur police station based on the statement of Dilbag Singh. The investigation revealed the involvement of Nabhpreet Singh, a resident of Shahpur village in Amloh, Fatehgarh Sahib district. Following further inquiry, Nabhpreet Singh was arrested in accordance with the law.
Arrest and Legal Proceedings
Nabhpreet Singh was arrested on Monday and will be produced before the court to seek police remand for further interrogation. A police official said that the remand is necessary to unearth additional facts and evidence related to the crime. The police are confident that more details about the motive and circumstances of the murder will emerge during the custodial interrogation.
