Migrant Worker Found Dead in Gandhinagar Farmhouse Under Mysterious Circumstances

A 42-year-old migrant laborer was discovered deceased under highly unusual conditions at a farmhouse located near a construction site in the Raysan area of Gandhinagar. The body of the individual, identified as Jagdev Paswan, a native of Amethi in Uttar Pradesh, was found hanging from a tree with his hands securely tied behind his back, prompting an immediate and thorough police investigation into the perplexing incident.

Detailed Police Investigation and Forensic Examination

Officers from the Infocity police station and the local crime branch swiftly responded to the scene, initiating a comprehensive probe due to the bizarre nature of the discovery. Police noted that Paswan had a red scarf, commonly referred to as a gamcha, wrapped around his neck, while his hands were bound behind his back with what appeared to be another piece of the same fabric. More than six individuals have been questioned as part of the ongoing investigation to gather crucial information and insights.

Infocity police inspector V R Kher provided details, stating that forensic experts were summoned to meticulously examine the location for any evidence. "We have officially registered a case of accidental death at this preliminary stage," Kher explained. "Subsequent legal measures and potential reclassification of the case will be determined based on the findings and conclusions presented in the forensic examination report."

Forensic Findings and Background Information

According to the preliminary opinion issued by the Forensic Science Laboratory (FSL), the evidence suggests that Paswan might have climbed the tree independently and created a noose by tearing a section of the red scarf. The remaining portion of the scarf was allegedly utilized to bind his own hands in a manner indicative of self-restraint, possibly to prevent any involuntary escape during the act. Investigators reported no visible signs of struggle, physical altercation, or suspicious marks at the scene, which initially points toward a self-inflicted incident.

Relatives and family members of the deceased informed the police that Jagdev Paswan had been grappling with significant mental health challenges. They revealed that he frequently expressed intense fears and paranoia, consistently believing that someone was actively attempting to kill him. Additionally, police inquiries uncovered that Paswan had previously been entangled in a contentious dispute between a contractor and a builder in Bihar, where he reportedly received threats, adding a layer of complexity to the investigation.

Ongoing Investigation and Potential Reclassification

The police have emphasized that the case remains open and subject to reclassification if any new evidence emerges that contradicts the current findings. Authorities are continuing to explore all possible angles, including the mental health history, past conflicts, and the exact circumstances leading to the tragic event. The community and officials are awaiting further developments as the investigation progresses to ensure a complete and accurate understanding of this distressing incident.
