Chandigarh Kids Found in Lucknow: Police Trace Missing Boys to Railway Station
Missing Chandigarh Children Found at Lucknow Railway Station

In a heartening conclusion to a tense search, two young boys who went missing from Chandigarh earlier this week were safely traced to a railway station in Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh. The children, who had disappeared from their homes in Raipur Khurd village on Tuesday, were finally reunited with their families after a coordinated effort by police forces across two states.

The Disappearance and Police Search

The ordeal began on Tuesday when the families realized the boys were missing. The mother of one child explained she was at the hospital and returned home by 4:30 in the evening, assuming her son had gone for tuition. When he did not return, panic set in. Similarly, the parents of the second boy stated they had left for work in the morning and came back to find him gone.

Both families promptly filed formal complaints at the Maulijagran police station. Immediately, police teams were mobilized to find the children. The search strategy included circulating photographs of the missing boys at key transport hubs across the region, including railway stations and bus stands.

Discovery in Lucknow

The breakthrough came on Thursday. Personnel from the Govt Railway Police (GRP) in Uttar Pradesh spotted the two children wandering alone on a platform at Lucknow railway station. Upon questioning, the boys revealed they had come from Chandigarh but could not provide further coherent details.

The GRP officials took the children into protective custody and, using the information shared through police channels, contacted their counterparts in Chandigarh. The Maulijagran police were quickly informed about the location of the missing boys.

The Journey Home and Key Details

Investigations revealed the surprising route the children had taken. They first boarded a bus from Chandigarh to Ambala. From Ambala, they managed to get onto a train destined for Lucknow. A police team from Chandigarh was swiftly dispatched to Uttar Pradesh to bring the children back home.

Police shared that one of the boys is a student of Class III, while the other does not currently attend school. After all necessary legal procedures were completed in Lucknow and Chandigarh, the two children were officially handed over to their relieved families.

The successful resolution of this case highlights the importance of inter-state police coordination and public vigilance in ensuring child safety.
