Body of Missing 28-Year-Old Man Recovered from Poovar Estuary in Thiruvananthapuram
The body of a 28-year-old man who went missing while bathing in an estuary in Poovar, Thiruvananthapuram, was recovered on Wednesday afternoon after an extensive search operation. The deceased has been identified as Arun, a native of Amachal in Kattakada.
Search Operation Launched After Missing Report
According to fire and rescue officials, they received information late Tuesday night that a person had gone missing in the estuary while bathing. Following this alert, a scuba diving team was immediately deployed to the spot to initiate search efforts. The operations resumed early on Wednesday morning, with divers conducting thorough underwater searches despite challenging conditions in the estuary waters.
Challenging Recovery Efforts
After several hours of persistent effort, the team successfully located and recovered Arun's body around 1:30 PM on Wednesday. The rescue operation was led by Binoy Viswam of the scuba diving team, with divers including Vidhyaraj, Pradosh, Anu, Vishnunarayanan, and Baiju actively participating in the mission. Personnel from the Poovar fire and rescue station, led by assistant station officer Noble, also contributed significantly to the search operation.

Coastal police have registered a case and initiated a probe to ascertain the exact circumstances that led to this tragic incident. Authorities are working to determine the factors that contributed to the drowning and to prevent similar occurrences in the future.
