Sub-inspector Balwinder Singh, who serves as the in-charge of Police Station Gharuan, led his team in setting up a strategic checkpoint near Bhagomajra village. During the routine checking process, the police stopped a black Mahindra Thar with the registration number PB-10JB-0094. The vehicle was being driven by Jaskirat Singh, a resident of Karnail Singh Nagar in Ludhiana district. Upon conducting a thorough search of the vehicle, the police officers discovered a substantial sum of cash. The amount was significant enough to raise immediate suspicions regarding its origin and intended use. When questioned by the officers, the driver, Jaskirat Singh, reportedly failed to provide a satisfactory explanation for carrying such a large sum of money. Additionally, he could not produce any supporting documents to legitimize the cash, such as receipts, bank statements, or authorization letters.

DSP Karan Singh Sandhu provided detailed insights into the recovery. "Upon counting, the total cash recovered amounted to Rs 80,90,910 in Indian currency. The entire amount was seized on the spot as per established legal procedures," he stated.
