A young banking professional's life was tragically cut short in a devastating hit-and-run incident in Mumbai's Malad East area. The victim, identified as 32-year-old Dhaval Rajput, succumbed to severe injuries after a private tours and travels bus rammed into his motorcycle from behind.
Details of the Tragic Accident
The incident occurred on the Western Express Highway at Malad East around 8 pm on December 26. Rajput, who worked as a deputy manager with a leading private bank, was on his daily commute home. His office was located in Andheri East, and he regularly travelled by his motorcycle to his residence in Charkop, where he lived with his parents and siblings.
According to police reports, the private bus violently collided with Rajput's two-wheeler from the rear. The impact was so severe that the rear wheel of the bus crushed Rajput's head, causing critical injuries. After causing the crash, the bus driver chose to flee the scene instead of stopping to help the victim.
Family's Rush to Hospital and Fatal Outcome
Rajput's father, Hiralal, received a distressing phone call from an officer of the Dindoshi police station, informing him that his son was injured in a road crash. The family immediately rushed to the Babasaheb Ambedkar Hospital in Kandivali, where Rajput had been taken for emergency treatment.
Despite their desperate hopes, the family's worst fears were confirmed. Dhaval Rajput was pronounced dead before admission at 9.20 pm. The serious head injuries he sustained proved fatal, leaving his family and colleagues in profound grief.
Police Investigation and Search for the Driver
The Dindoshi Police have registered a formal First Information Report (FIR) against the unidentified bus driver. Authorities have launched a manhunt to locate and apprehend the individual responsible for the fatal hit-and-run accident.
