Mumbai Father Faces Arrest After Brutal Assault on Six-Year-Old Son

In a shocking incident from India's financial capital, a 28-year-old man has been arrested in Mumbai for allegedly assaulting his six-year-old son because the child refused to eat food. The Sahar Police took swift action after the child's mother filed a detailed complaint that also exposed a pattern of domestic violence spanning two years.

Pattern of Domestic Violence Revealed

According to police records, the complainant married the accused in 2016. The man, who runs a fabrication business, allegedly engaged in frequent fights with his wife over the past two years. The situation escalated dramatically when the husband took their son to his native place in Pune without informing his wife and remained unreachable for three consecutive days.

The troubled domestic situation took a more serious turn when, a week after returning from Pune, the husband allegedly forced his wife out of their home and threatened that she couldn't take their son with her. Fearing for her safety, the woman moved to her mother's residence in Andheri East.

The Shocking Video Call and Discovery

The case took its most disturbing turn on November 25 when the accused allegedly made a video call to his wife showing their child with visible injuries. When the concerned mother questioned him about the injuries, the man reportedly disconnected the call immediately.

The mother immediately rushed to the residence in Sahar area where her husband had relocated with the child, but found the apartment locked. Two days later, on November 27, she returned and while searching the locality, she found her son with a neighbour.

The child revealed horrifying details to his mother, stating that his father had beaten him with a wire and a belt because he refused to eat. The mother found clear bruises on her son's body and immediately took him to the police station to file a formal complaint.

Police Action and Arrest

Senior Inspector Manoj Chalke of Sahar Police Station confirmed that immediate action was taken based on the mother's statement and visible injuries on the child's body. "We registered a case against the man based on the statement of the child's mother. The bruises were found on the child's body. We immediately took action and he was arrested and produced in the court and sent into judicial custody," Chalke stated.

The case highlights the serious issue of domestic violence and child abuse in urban households, with authorities emphasizing the importance of reporting such incidents promptly. The Mumbai Police have demonstrated their commitment to taking swift action in cases involving violence against children and domestic abuse.
