Details of the Incident
The unfortunate event unfolded on Wednesday evening at approximately 10 pm. The victim, identified as Sanjay Panchal, aged 42, was returning home on foot after having dinner at a friend's residence. As he walked near the Hanjar Nagar Pump House area, close to Jai Mahakali Chawl in Andheri East, the pet dog, belonging to Soni Pandey, suddenly attacked him.
The dog bit Panchal on his right hip, causing significant injury. In response, Panchal attempted to push the animal away to defend himself. The commotion attracted the attention of local residents, including Rekha Paikekar (25) and Meenakshi Uttare (40), who raised an alarm upon witnessing the attack.

Following the alarm, the dog released its grip on Panchal's trousers and fled towards Babu Rewala Chawl, located near the pump house. The disturbance drew several residents to the spot, where the dog's owner, Soni Pandey, also arrived. According to the complaint filed, an argument ensued between Pandey and the locals at the scene.

During their preliminary inquiry, it was confirmed that the dog involved in the attack belonged to Soni Pandey, a resident of Babu Rewala Chawl.
Medical Treatment and Formal Complaint
The police took Sanjay Panchal to the police station and advised him to undergo a medical examination to assess his injuries. He subsequently received treatment at Trauma Hospital in Jogeshwari East. After receiving medical care, Panchal lodged a formal complaint against Soni Pandey, leading to the registration of the FIR for negligent conduct.
