However, during this transfer process, Mankar suddenly turned aggressive. He began pelting stones at the police personnel and the police vehicle, creating a scene of chaos and disarray. Seizing the opportunity amidst the panic, he managed to escape from the custody of the escorting team.

According to sources, Mankar reportedly fled towards the forested stretch adjoining the Nagpur Central Jail, disappearing into the thick vegetation. Three dedicated teams were formed to spearhead the manhunt, focusing on areas around the jail and nearby regions. The efforts paid off later that night when, at around 11 PM, Rushi Mankar was successfully re-arrested from the Hingna area.
