In a shocking incident in Nashik, a 33-year-old man has been detained for allegedly fatally striking his 60-year-old mother with a mango cutter. The crime occurred around 2 PM on Tuesday in the Savedi area of Ahilyanagar district, sending shockwaves through the local community.
Neighbors Alert Police After Hearing Disturbing Cries
Loud, piercing cries from the rented room of Baby Gavare and her son Suhas Gavare prompted neighbors to gather outside. Upon arrival, they found the door locked from within, leading them to immediately contact the Tofkhana police. Officers rushed to the scene and broke open the door, where they discovered the bludgeoned body of Baby Gavare lying lifeless inside.
Suhas Gavare was detained from the spot, with police noting his disturbing demeanor. PI Jagdish Bhambal stated, "On reaching the spot, police personnel could see Suhas busy playing with a tin box inside the house and was least affected by the crime he had just committed." This lack of remorse has added to the chilling nature of the case.

Baby Gavare, a widow, worked by taking up household chores in other people's homes to earn a living, while her son Suhas was unemployed. The case was registered based on a complaint from Baby's married daughter, who reported the murder to the authorities.
PI Bhambal further explained, "Suhas has not told us anything so far about what made him kill his mother. Even his complainant sister told police that he keeps to himself and does not speak to anyone. We are investigating the case."
