Nashik Shaken by Two Major House Break-Ins, Over Rs 8 Lakh Stolen
The city of Nashik was rattled by two separate house break-ins that occurred between February 10 and 13, resulting in the theft of cash and articles valued at over Rs 8 lakh. The incidents, which took place in the Adgaon and Indiranagar areas, have prompted police investigations as residents express growing concern over urban crime.
Adgaon Theft: Rs 3.9 Lakh Stolen During Family Engagement
In the first case, unidentified suspects targeted a closed house in Adgaon, making off with cash and jewellery worth Rs 3.9 lakh. According to the complaint filed by a 38-year-old transporter and resident of Amrutdham, Panchavati, the theft occurred while he and his family attended a relative's engagement ceremony on February 10.
The complainant stated that before leaving home, they had securely locked all doors. However, between 11 am and 5:30 pm, burglars forced entry by breaking the locks of both the safety door and main door. The stolen items included Rs 20,000 in cash along with valuable gold and silver jewellery, such as earrings, gold chains, and children's silver ornaments.
The Adgaon police have registered an FIR and are actively investigating the case, examining evidence and pursuing leads to identify the perpetrators.
Indiranagar Burglary: Businessman Loses Over Rs 5 Lakh
In a separate incident, cash and other articles valued at over Rs 5 lakh were stolen from the residence of a businessman at Modkeshwar Chowk in Indiranagar. The theft took place between 11:30 am on February 11 and 5 am on February 13, while the family was away from home.
The complainant reported that the burglar entered the bungalow through the rear entrance, breaking the safety door to gain access. The stolen property included Rs 2.25 lakh in cash and various gold jewellery items, collectively worth more than Rs 5 lakh. The Indiranagar police have filed an FIR and launched an investigation into this sophisticated break-in.

These incidents highlight a persistent issue in Nashik, where house break-ins have become a significant urban problem. Statistics indicate that between 500 to 600 thefts occur annually in the city, underscoring the need for enhanced security measures and vigilant policing. Residents are advised to reinforce home security systems, especially during extended absences, to deter potential burglars.
