Noida Farmer Arrested for Vicious Spade Attack on Elderly Woman in Property Dispute

In a shocking incident from Noida's Jarcha area, a 54-year-old farmer has been arrested for allegedly launching a brutal assault on a 60-year-old woman using a spade. The violent attack, which stemmed from a long-standing property dispute, occurred on Sunday and left the victim unconscious before locals intervened.

Details of the Violent Assault

The accused, identified as Babli, a resident of Upralsi village in Jarcha, allegedly attacked the woman named Saroj with a spade. According to police reports, Babli struck Saroj with the spade, causing her to fall to the ground. He then continued hitting her multiple times while she was defenseless.

The assault only ceased when a crowd gathered at the scene and rescued the unconscious woman. Bystanders immediately transported Saroj to a nearby hospital, where medical staff treated her injuries. Authorities have confirmed that her condition is now stable following medical attention.

Police Investigation and Video Evidence

Police became involved after receiving video footage of the disturbing incident. Assistant Commissioner of Police Prashali Gangwar provided additional context, revealing that the attack actually occurred on Friday when Saroj was passing through the area.

"The accused was watching road construction work along with other locals when he suddenly approached the woman and began hitting her with the spade," stated ACP Gangwar. "Thankfully, local residents intervened promptly and rescued the victim from further harm."

Root Cause: Property Dispute Escalation

During their investigation, police uncovered that Saroj and Babli had been embroiled in a property dispute for some time. On the day of the incident, a verbal argument erupted between them, which quickly escalated into physical violence.

The confrontation turned violent when Babli allegedly grabbed a spade and began his attack on the elderly woman. This marked a dangerous escalation from what had previously been a civil disagreement over property matters.

Legal Action and Charges Filed

Following the incident, Saroj's son Sunil filed a formal complaint with local authorities. Police have registered a case under the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) sections for multiple serious offenses:

  • Attempt to murder
  • Voluntarily causing hurt
  • Criminal intimidation
  • Intentional insult

The swift police response, prompted by the video evidence and formal complaint, led to Babli's arrest. Authorities are continuing their investigation into the property dispute that triggered this violent confrontation while ensuring the victim receives proper medical care and legal support.
