In a swift and efficient operation, the detective staff of Panchkula police successfully cracked a theft case within just 48 hours, leading to the arrest of three habitual offenders. The accused were involved in breaking into a kothi located in Pinjore and stealing valuable items, showcasing the police department's commitment to maintaining law and order in the region.

Complaint Filed on Republic Day

The incident came to light when a Panchkula resident filed a complaint on January 26 at the Madhawala police post. According to the complainant, his firm operates from a kothi situated in Khokra village. He had securely locked the premises on January 22 before leaving town for a brief period. However, upon his return, he discovered that unidentified persons had forcibly broken open the lock during his absence.

The thieves made off with a laptop and several other valuable items from the property. Following this discovery, a formal theft case was registered at the Pinjore police station, initiating a thorough investigation into the matter.

Swift Investigation Leads to Arrests

Acting on the complaint, the Panchkula police launched an intensive investigation. Their efforts bore fruit within 48 hours when they apprehended three individuals on January 28. The arrested suspects have been identified as:

  • Nitin Kumar, a resident of Peepal Ghat
  • Dheeraj Kumar, from Rampur Jangi
  • Abhishek, also known as Gujjar, of Barad village

ACP (Crime) Arvind Kamboj provided details of the operation, highlighting the police's dedication to solving crimes promptly. The arrests underscore the effectiveness of the detective staff in tackling such incidents and bringing perpetrators to justice.

Recovery of Stolen Goods and Proceeds

During the investigation, police recovered several stolen items from the accused, including:

  • A laptop that was taken from the kothi
  • Five domestic LPG cylinders
  • Cash amounting to Rs 20,000, which was identified as proceeds from the sale of stolen borewell wires and other articles

This recovery not only helped in building a strong case against the offenders but also ensured that some of the stolen property was returned to the rightful owner.

Legal Proceedings and Judicial Custody

After completing all necessary legal formalities, the three accused were produced in court on Thursday. Following the court proceedings, they were remanded to judicial custody. This step marks a significant milestone in the case, as it ensures that the offenders face the legal consequences of their actions.
