Prayagraj Police Cracks Down on Inter-District Auto-Lifter Gang

In a significant breakthrough, Pratapgarh police successfully busted an inter-district gang of auto-lifters on Sunday, apprehending three of its key operatives. The arrests were made as the suspects were allegedly planning to dispose of stolen motorcycles, marking a crucial step in curbing vehicle thefts across the region.

Key Arrests and Gang Operations

The arrested individuals have been identified as Mohd Sajid alias Anta (20) of Jain Gali, Shivam Balmiki (22) of Purana Mall Godown, and Harikesh (38) of Mall Godown near Bhagwa railway crossing. According to police reports, Shivam and Mohd Sajid were primarily responsible for targeting parked bikes near railway stations and bustling markets, exploiting high-traffic areas to carry out their thefts.

The gang's operations spanned across Prayagraj and Pratapgarh districts, indicating a coordinated effort to steal and resell vehicles. During the raid, police recovered three stolen bikes, providing tangible evidence of their criminal activities.
