Pune: ITI Student Arrested for Bludgeoning Peer to Death

The Ghodegaon police on Friday arrested a 19-year-old student from the Industrial Training Institute (ITI) on charges of bludgeoning another student to death. The incident occurred in the early hours of Friday on the terrace of the college hostel. The police have identified the deceased student as Saurav Sakhare (23), who hailed from Beed district.

Details of the Incident

An officer from the Pune Rural police stated that the murder was the result of an old dispute between the accused, the victim, and the victim's roommate. The victim was sleeping on the terrace of the hostel. Around 1 am on Friday, the accused went to the terrace and started abusing the victim, leading to a heated argument.

The accused then picked up an iron pipe and bludgeoned the victim. He further smashed the victim's head with a cement block before fleeing the scene. The police have arrested the accused and are conducting further investigations.
