DCP Mohite stated, "As part of standard operating procedures, we have written to the police commissioner's office detailing the offence and how the weapon was allegedly used in the crime. As per the FIR, the weapon was used to threaten Pawar. The commissioner's office will decide whether the license should be cancelled or suspended." Damgude, who is notably the first complainant in the Elgar Parishad case, added, "I hold a valid firearm license. The CCTV footage clearly shows that I neither used the weapon nor pulled it out during the altercation. The allegations are a political stunt by Congress members to defame me."
