Pune Youth Arrested for Brutal Murder Over Hair-Pulling Dispute
In a shocking incident in Pune, the Chakan North police have made a significant breakthrough by arresting a 19-year-old youth and detaining his minor accomplice for the brutal murder of their 20-year-old friend. The arrest was made on Saturday night following a gruesome crime that has sent ripples through the local community.
Details of the Fatal Attack
The murder, which occurred around 3 pm on Saturday in Chakan, was the culmination of an old dispute that had been simmering for months. The victim has been identified as Prathamesh Mane, a 20-year-old resident of Nighoje in Khed taluka. According to Assistant Police Inspector Rajendra Pawar of the Chakan North police, the accused and two additional accomplices carried out a vicious attack on Mane.
"The accused stabbed the victim with a screwdriver and then bludgeoned him to death with a stone," Pawar stated, highlighting the brutality of the crime. The police acted swiftly upon receiving information about the incident, leading to the immediate custody of two individuals involved.
Motive Behind the Murder
During interrogation, the primary accused, Vaibhav Shinde (19) of Chakan, revealed a disturbing motive. Shinde explained that he had suffered a serious accident a few months prior, which required major head surgery. Following the procedure, a part of his head became extremely sensitive.
"Despite this medical condition, Mane pulled his hair, which infuriated Shinde," Pawar elaborated. This seemingly minor act triggered deep-seated anger in Shinde, who had been harboring resentment since the incident.
Execution of the Crime
On Saturday evening, Shinde tracked down Mane in a lane at Chakan. Along with his accomplices, he launched a fatal assault, first stabbing Mane with a screwdriver and then using a stone to bludgeon him to death. The premeditated nature of the attack underscores the severity of the dispute.
Shinde was produced before the court on Sunday and has been remanded to police custody until February 18. The investigation has revealed that both the victim and the accused, along with the minor accomplice, are school dropouts, adding a layer of social concern to the case.
Ongoing Police Investigation
The police are actively searching for two other accomplices who remain at large. Assistant Police Inspector Pawar emphasized that the team is working diligently to bring all perpetrators to justice and ensure community safety.
This tragic event highlights the devastating consequences of unresolved disputes and underscores the importance of conflict resolution and mental health awareness in preventing such violent outcomes.
