Seer Avimukteshwaranand Pledges Full Cooperation in POCSO Case Investigation

In Varanasi, Swami Avimukteshwaranand has declared his readiness to fully cooperate with the police investigation following the registration of an FIR against him on the orders of a POCSO court. The seer emphasized his desire for the truth to emerge swiftly, stating that he is prepared to face the probe and assist investigators in resolving the matter at the earliest.

Seer's Statement on Investigation and Cooperation

"If a case is registered, an investigation will also be conducted. I am ready to face it and also fully cooperate with the investigators, as, like them, I am also interested in resolving the matter at the earliest," said Swami Avimukteshwaranand. He drew parallels from epics, citing examples of imposters and hypocrites like Kalnemi, Ravan, and Rahu who were eventually exposed after their deceitful acts.

Rejection of Calls for Non-BJP State Police Probe

Many of his followers urged the seer to request an investigation by police from a non-BJP-ruled state, expressing doubts about the UP Police's impartiality. However, the seer firmly rejected this suggestion, asserting, "But I made it clear to them that I am ready for a probe by UP Police." He reiterated his commitment to cooperating with the authorities without seeking alternative jurisdictions.

Addressing Concerns Over Potential Arrest

When questioned about the possibility of his arrest in the case, Swami Avimukteshwaranand dismissed such concerns, stating there is no question of an arrest. "I am not fleeing, I'm facing the probe and cooperating with the investigators," he affirmed. He added that if an arrest were to occur despite his cooperation, it would reveal the intentions of those in power to insult the Shankaracharya, whom he considers his lower court.

The seer further explained his perspective on justice, saying, "My high court is my conscience, which is clear as water. And my Supreme Court is the God, who is watching us all." He expressed confidence that the allegations, which he claims are fabricated, will be proven false in due time, whether today or tomorrow.

Legal and Political Developments at the Mutt

Regarding the presence of numerous lawyers at his Mutt, Swami Avimukteshwaranand clarified that he did not summon any of them; they were present out of reverence and sentiment. Additionally, delegations from the Congress and the Samajwadi Party visited the seer at the Mutt, indicating political interest in the case.

Background of the FIR and Allegations

An FIR was lodged on Sunday at the Jhunsi police station under the directives of a POCSO court. The case involves Swami Avimukteshwaranand and his disciple Mukudanand Brahmachari, who are accused of sexually assaulting two minor boys at his camp over the past year. The investigation is now underway, with the seer vowing full transparency and cooperation to ensure a fair and timely resolution.
