A 7-year-old boy from D Hosahalli village in Maddur taluk, Mandya district, was bitten by a poisonous snake on Sunday night. The child, identified as the son of Sannayya, was outside his home when the incident occurred. Family members immediately rushed him to the Maddur Government Hospital, where doctors provided first aid and recommended transferring him to the Mandya District Hospital for advanced care.
Ambulance Breakdown Causes Delay
The situation took a distressing turn when the government ambulance transporting the child suffered a mechanical breakdown near Gejjalagere on the Bengaluru-Mysuru National Highway. The unexpected fault left the anxious parents stranded on the roadside, heightening concerns about the boy's condition. With no immediate alternative transport, valuable time was lost.
Good Samaritan Comes to Rescue
Amid the crisis, a Good Samaritan from Bengaluru, who was traveling on the highway, stopped to help. The child was shifted into the private vehicle and safely transported to Mandya District Hospital. According to hospital sources, the boy is now out of danger and receiving treatment.
This incident highlights the critical need for reliable ambulance services, especially in rural areas, and the importance of community support in emergencies.
