Property Dispute Turns Deadly in Ballia Village
A tragic family conflict over property has resulted in one death and multiple injuries in Ballia district, with police arresting a man and his wife for the violent attack. The incident occurred late Friday at Bhagwanpur village under the jurisdiction of the Dokati police station.
Arrests Made After Fatal Stabbing
Ballia Superintendent of Police Omvir Singh confirmed that Mukesh Yadav and his wife Pushpa have been taken into custody for allegedly attacking family members during a property dispute. According to police reports, the couple fled the scene immediately after the incident but were later apprehended following an intensive manhunt.
The violence erupted when Mukesh Yadav, reportedly instigated by his wife Pushpa over ongoing family issues, attacked his father Lalji Yadav with a knife. When his brothers Rakesh Yadav and Govind Yadav attempted to intervene and stop the assault, Mukesh turned the weapon on them as well.
Hospitalization and Recovery of Evidence
The injured family members were rushed to medical facilities for emergency treatment. Tragically, Lalji Yadav was declared dead upon arrival at the hospital. His sons Rakesh Yadav and Govind Yadav sustained serious injuries and were referred to the district hospital for further specialized treatment.
Based on statements provided by Mukesh Yadav during interrogation, police investigators successfully recovered the knife used in the violent attack. This crucial evidence will play a significant role in the ongoing investigation and subsequent legal proceedings.
Mother's Account and Police Investigation
Chinta Devi, the mother of the accused and wife of the deceased, provided critical information to authorities. She alleged that her son Mukesh attacked his father with a knife after being provoked and instigated by his wife Pushpa regarding family matters and the property dispute.
When Dokati police received Chinta Devi's formal complaint, they immediately launched a comprehensive search operation. Investigators tracked the fleeing couple to Sonia crossing, where Mukesh and Pushpa were apprehended near a temple while reportedly waiting for transportation to escape the area.
The arrested couple now faces serious criminal charges including murder and attempted murder.
