A group of four to five miscreants allegedly unleashed a stone-pelting spree in Raili village near Sector 12, Panchkula, late Thursday night, shattering window screens and triggering widespread panic among the local residents. The incident, which occurred around 11.30 pm, has left the community in fear as police have initiated a probe into the matter.

The miscreants reportedly focused their attack on a house situated directly in front of No. 107, hurling stones that struck multiple residences and broke window panes. According to eyewitness accounts, the assailants did not stop at property damage; they also issued chilling death threats to individuals who were present at the scene during the assault.
As villagers emerged from their homes upon hearing the commotion, the accused swiftly fled the area, abandoning the neighbourhood in a state of distress and apprehension. The entire episode was meticulously recorded by CCTV cameras installed throughout the village, providing crucial evidence for the ongoing investigation.
CCTV Footage Reveals Unmasked Culprits
The surveillance footage clearly depicts four to five individuals, none of whom were masked, actively pelting the houses with stones. This visual evidence has been handed over to the police, who are currently scrutinising the recordings in an effort to identify the perpetrators involved in this brazen act.
Residents Express Frustration Over Police Response
Villagers reported that they promptly contacted emergency number 112 to alert authorities about the incident. However, they have raised concerns regarding the response from law enforcement personnel who arrived at the scene. According to residents, the police officers did not take immediate concrete action and instead instructed them to visit the police station to file a formal complaint before departing.
