Traffic Restrictions and Route Diversions
Deputy Commissioner of Police (Traffic) Maksood Ahmed has announced significant restrictions on heavy and commercial vehicles during the festival period. These vehicles will not be permitted on several roads leading to Surajkund between 7 AM and 12 midnight throughout the fair duration. The affected routes include:
- Pali to Shooting Range
- Ankhir to Surajkund
- NHPC Chowk to Surajkund
- Prahladpur Delhi Border to Surajkund
However, vehicles providing essential services such as milk, fruits, vegetables, and medicines will be exempted from these restrictions during the specified hours.
Additional Heavy Vehicle Prohibitions
In addition to the primary restrictions, heavy vehicles will be completely barred from using the Surajkund Craft Mela Road via Silver Oaks and Khushboo Chowk, Faridabad Toll, Gwal Pahari, Ghata T-point, and Vatika SPR in Sectors 55 and 56 between 7 AM and 11 PM. Parking of heavy vehicles on Surajkund Craft Mela Road is also strictly prohibited during this period.
Alternative Routes for Commuters
For vehicles heading towards Delhi from Gurgaon via Faridabad, traffic authorities have recommended using Sainik Colony Mor through Ankhir Chowk and Badkhal Road. Alternatively, commuters can take routes via Pyali Chowk, Bata Chowk, and Mathura Road to avoid the most congested areas.
Heavy vehicle drivers commuting between Gurgaon and Faridabad have been specifically advised to utilize the KMP Expressway or other alternative corridors to bypass the festival-affected zones entirely.
The traffic police emphasize that these measures are necessary to ensure smooth traffic flow and safety for the large number of festival attendees while minimizing disruption to regular commuters. Visitors are encouraged to plan their journeys in advance, consider using public transportation where possible, and follow the official traffic advisories closely during the festival period.
