Vijayapura: As many as three people were injured in a suspicious blast at a paan shop in Mamadapur village, Babaleshwar taluk, Vijayapura district on Sunday night. The incident has prompted a thorough investigation by local authorities.

Police have identified the injured as Vijay Kumar, the owner of the paan shop, along with customers Prashant and Siddu. All three have been admitted to a private hospital in Vijayapura for treatment. According to doctors, the injured are currently out of danger and their condition is stable.

Police Investigation Underway

Superintendent of Police Laxman Nimbargi provided updates on the case, stating that the injured individuals are unable to recall what exactly happened or the cause of the blast. They have sustained some injuries but are recovering well. Following the incident, the dog squad, SOCO (Scene of Crime Officers), and anti-sabotage teams were promptly dispatched to the spot. However, authorities did not find any substantial material evidence at the scene.

Preliminary examination of CCTV footage suggests a sequence of events: a flash of light resembling lightning followed by a thunder-like sound, after which some movement of the public from a nearby bar was observed. The bar is located close to the paan shop. The matter remains under investigation, and officials plan to involve a bomb detection and disposal squad for further analysis.
