Three Women Held for Robbing Passengers at Bengaluru Station

Bengaluru: The Railway Protection Force (RPF) apprehended three women from Maharashtra at KR Pura railway station last week for robbing female passengers. According to RPF officials, the trio was tracked based on an analysis of theft complaints lodged by passengers through the ‘Rail Madad’ platform. A dedicated Theft of Passenger Belongings (TOPB) team from the Bengaluru Cantonment circle verified CCTV footage and uncovered the gang's modus operandi.

Accused Identified

The three women — Heena Shaik (45), Kabutra Bhai (48), and Sakeena (30), all residents of Solapur in Maharashtra — would target women passengers who were about to board trains or waiting on platforms. They would blend into crowded trains and snatch valuables by opening passengers' bags.

Operation Details

On Saturday afternoon, the RPF team was monitoring passengers of the 12640 Brindavan Express traveling between KSR Bengaluru and MGR Chennai Central stations. They noticed the three women moving suspiciously near the end of platforms 2 and 3, and promptly apprehended them. The arrests were made based on prior surveillance and complaint analysis.
