Among the deceased was V Dalaya (48), a paralysis patient from Pati Sunapur in Ganjam district, who was being transported to Visakhapatnam for crucial medical treatment. The five injured individuals were initially admitted to a government hospital in Tekkali for emergency treatment. Subsequently, they were shifted to more advanced medical facilities in Srikakulam and the MKCG Medical College and Hospital in Berhampur for further care. Authorities have confirmed that all injured persons are now out of danger and receiving appropriate medical attention.

Chief Minister Announces Ex-Gratia Relief

In response to the tragedy, Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi announced an ex-gratia payment of Rs 4 lakh to the next of kin of each deceased victim.
