Two Die as Reversing Truck Crushes Motorcycle in Nagpur

Nagpur: A tragic accident claimed the lives of two men on Monday when a reversing truck ran over their motorcycle near the back gate of an engineering college on Shivangaon Road, under MIDC Police Station limits.

Victims Identified

The deceased were identified as Vicky Kale (32), a resident of Wadi, and his friend Kishore Lohe (42), a resident of Narkhed. The incident occurred at approximately 12:30 pm when the duo was riding a motorcycle. A truck coming from MIDC towards Shivangaon suddenly reversed to give way to an oil tanker.

Driver's Negligence

According to police, the truck driver was wearing headphones and allegedly ignored repeated honking from the motorcyclists. He carelessly reversed the vehicle, crushing both riders under the wheels. After the accident, the driver fled the scene.

Both victims were rushed to AIIMS Hospital, where they were declared dead upon arrival.

Legal Action

Based on a complaint filed by Sanjay Mahadevrao, a case has been registered against the truck driver under Section 106(1), 281 BNS and Sections 134, 184, 187 of the Motor Vehicles Act. Investigations are ongoing to trace the absconding driver.
