According to family members, Daya Shankar was riding a bicycle from his village towards Buxar when the accident occurred.

Police reports indicate that Dharmendra was driving the tractor when Daya Shankar suddenly appeared in front of the vehicle. In a desperate attempt to avoid hitting the cyclist, Dharmendra lost control of the tractor. The vehicle subsequently collided with the bicycle and overturned into a roadside ditch. Tragically, Dharmendra died on the spot at the scene of the accident.
