Two Mysterious Deaths Reported in Chatra District

In a disturbing development, the bodies of two men were discovered in separate police station areas within Chatra district on Tuesday, March 3. Both incidents are shrouded in mystery as local authorities launch comprehensive investigations to determine the circumstances surrounding these tragic deaths.

First Incident: Tandwa Police Station Area

The first discovery occurred in the Tandwa police station jurisdiction, where villagers stumbled upon the body of a 45-year-old man in a forested area near Kamta village on Tuesday morning. The deceased has been identified as Tupa, also known as Tuma Bhuiyan, a resident of Kamta village.

According to police reports, Tupa had left his home on Sunday with the intention of attending the weekly market at Tandwa. When he failed to return, concerned family members filed a missing person report at the local police station and conducted extensive searches throughout nearby areas and relatives' homes.

Key evidence found at the scene included a bag containing vegetables and other items presumably purchased from the market, suggesting the victim was returning home when the incident occurred. The body was located near the Lilajan river, adding another layer of complexity to the investigation.

While some local residents have speculated that excessive alcohol consumption might have contributed to his death, authorities emphasize that the exact cause will only be determined following a thorough autopsy. Officer-in-charge Uttam Tiwari confirmed that police have taken custody of the body and sent it for post-mortem examination, stating: "The matter is being investigated from all angles. Further action will be taken after receiving the autopsy report."

Second Incident: Mayurhand Police Station Area

In a separate but equally troubling development, police discovered the body of another man near the Ledhiya river at Kadgawan Khurd under Mayurhand police station limits on Tuesday night. This victim, estimated to be approximately 50 years old, was found in a semi-clad condition, further complicating identification efforts.

Distinguishing physical characteristics noted by investigators include a tattoo of Shesh Nag on the man's right hand and a thick black thread tied around his right arm. Despite these identifying marks, police have been unable to establish the deceased's identity and have made a public appeal for assistance.

Officer-in-charge Ashish Prasad stated: "The identity of the deceased has not yet been established. We urge members of the public to come forward with any information that might help identify this individual."

Ongoing Investigations and Next Steps

Police authorities in both jurisdictions have confirmed that comprehensive investigations are currently underway. The parallel cases present unique challenges for law enforcement as they work to piece together the events leading to these deaths.

Key investigative priorities include:

  • Conducting thorough post-mortem examinations for both victims
  • Establishing the identity of the second deceased individual
  • Determining whether any connection exists between the two incidents
  • Interviewing witnesses and gathering forensic evidence
  • Examining all possible angles, including accidental death, foul play, or natural causes

Authorities have emphasized that definitive conclusions will only be reached after receiving and analyzing the autopsy reports. The Chatra district police department remains committed to uncovering the truth behind these mysterious deaths and providing closure to affected families and communities.
