UP Couple Held for Husband's Murder, Body Dismemberment

Police in Uttar Pradesh have made a shocking arrest in a gruesome murder case, apprehending a woman and her alleged lover for the killing and dismemberment of her husband. The crime, which sent ripples through the local community in Amroha district, was uncovered after a meticulous investigation.

Gruesome Discovery in the Ganga Canal

The case came to light when body parts, later identified as belonging to 35-year-old farmer Jogendra, were discovered in the Ganga Canal near the Dhanaura area. The victim had been missing since February 20, 2025, prompting his family to file a police report. Following the grim discovery, authorities launched a full-scale probe.

The investigation led police to the victim's wife, Pinki, and a man named Sonu, with whom she was allegedly having an affair. During interrogation, the duo reportedly confessed to the horrific crime. Their motive, as cited by police, was to eliminate Jogendra so they could continue their relationship without obstruction.

Chilling Details of the Crime Emerge

According to the police account, the murder was premeditated and executed with brutal precision. On the night of February 20, when Jogendra was asleep at his home in Nagla Chhaju village, the accused allegedly strangled him to death.

The horror did not end there. In a bid to dispose of the evidence, Pinki and Sonu are accused of dismembering Jogendra's body using a sharp weapon. They then packed the remains into a sack and transported them to the Ganga Canal on a motorcycle, where they dumped the grisly package.

"After killing Jogendra, the accused chopped his body into pieces to conceal the crime," stated a senior police officer involved in the case. The police have recovered the weapon believed to have been used in the dismemberment, along with the motorcycle used to transport the body.

Legal Repercussions and Community Shock

Both Pinki and Sonu have been formally arrested and charged under relevant sections of the Indian Penal Code, including murder and destruction of evidence. They were presented before a local court, which has remanded them to judicial custody as the investigation continues to build a watertight case.

The incident has left the village of Nagla Chhaju in a state of profound shock and disbelief. Neighbors and relatives of the deceased farmer described him as a quiet, hardworking man, making the betrayal and brutality of the crime even more difficult to comprehend. The cold-blooded nature of the murder, followed by the dismemberment, has marked this as one of the most heinous crimes reported in the district recently.

Police officials have emphasized that the swift resolution of the case was due to coordinated efforts and technical surveillance. They have assured the public of a thorough investigation to ensure justice is served for the victim. The case underscores the extreme lengths to which individuals can go, revealing a dark narrative of illicit passion leading to a horrific and calculated crime in the heart of Uttar Pradesh.
