According to police officials, the incident came to light when the victim's family filed a formal complaint. The Division Number 8 police station immediately launched an investigation into the matter, collecting crucial evidence and recording statements from witnesses.
Assistant Sub-Inspector Raj Kumar, the investigating officer in the case, revealed that the accused exploited his familiarity with the victim's family to commit this atrocity. "We have registered a case under relevant sections of the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act and the Indian Penal Code," stated Kumar.
