UP Special Task Force Apprehends Notorious Gangster in Cross-State Operation

The Uttar Pradesh Special Task Force (STF) has successfully arrested a wanted gangster, Ritik Singh, popularly known as Billu, who was carrying a reward of Rs 50,000 under the Gangster Act. The arrest was executed in Haryana following a meticulously planned intelligence-driven operation, as confirmed by officials on Saturday.

Intensive Manhunt Leads to Capture in Yamunanagar

Billu, the son of Nandpal Singh and a resident of Kali Singh Purwa village in the Khonderai area under Parsapur police station, Gonda district, had been evading authorities while residing in Yamunanagar, Haryana. He was wanted in a case registered at Parsapur police station under Section 3(1) of the Gangster Act. The arrest took place on February 7 from Rajawala Bagh, within the limits of Jagadhri police station in Yamunanagar.

This operation was part of a broader statewide crackdown targeting criminals with rewards on their heads. Multiple STF teams and field units were instructed to enhance intelligence gathering and take decisive action against absconding offenders.

Dedicated Team Effort in the Arrest

A specialized team, led by Inspector Omshankar Shukla and including Sub-Inspector Pratap Narayan Singh, head constables Dilip Yadav, Kuldeep Singh, Girja Shankar Yadav, Shivbhola Shukla, and driver head constable Suresh Singh, was responsible for the successful apprehension of Billu.

Confessions Reveal Criminal Activities and Future Plans

During interrogation, Billu admitted to leading a gang that included members such as Malkhan Singh, Zakir, Rizwan, Sunny, Yogesh, and Ankit. He confessed to breaking into a liquor shop in Lakshanpurwa Deharas and stealing cash. Additionally, he revealed involvement in another theft at a beer shop in Dharmnagar and disclosed that the gang was planning another burglary at a liquor shop in Mohna before police intervention disrupted their schemes.

Police records indicate that Billu has multiple criminal cases registered against him at Parsapur police station in Gonda, underscoring his history of illicit activities. This arrest marks a significant victory in the ongoing efforts to curb organized crime in the region.
