Uttar Pradesh Man Dies in Ahmedabad Hit-and-Run, Police Launch Intensive Search for Driver
In a tragic incident in Ahmedabad, a 45-year-old man from Uttar Pradesh lost his life after being struck by an unidentified vehicle in the early hours of February 13. The accident occurred near the Vaishnodevi Circle service road along SG Road in the Sola area, leaving the victim with severe injuries that proved fatal. The Sola Police have registered a formal complaint and initiated a comprehensive search for the absconding driver, who fled the scene immediately after the collision.
Family Details and Sequence of Events Leading to the Fatal Accident
The complainant, Sandeep Kashyap, a masonry worker residing in Nirma Colony near Vaishnodevi Circle, provided crucial information to the authorities. He revealed that his father, Rajaram Kashyap, aged 45, had arrived from their native village, Amowa-Kaharanpurwa, in Gonda district, Uttar Pradesh, just three days prior to the unfortunate event. On the night before the accident, Sandeep and his father shared dinner and retired to sleep in their company-allotted room near a construction site at Trigon Tower.
The following morning, Sandeep awoke to find his father missing from the room. Assuming Rajaram had stepped out briefly, Sandeep proceeded to work. However, his routine was abruptly interrupted when he received a distressing call from his sister-in-law. She informed him that Rajaram had been hit by a speeding vehicle near the service road opposite the Olive Green building. Unidentified individuals at the scene discovered a diary in the victim's pocket, which enabled them to contact the family promptly.
Medical Response and Tragic Outcome Despite Advanced Treatment
Rajaram was initially rushed to Sola Civil Hospital via a 108 ambulance, where he received immediate medical attention. Due to the severity of his injuries, he was subsequently shifted to Civil Hospital in Asarwa for more advanced treatment. Sandeep, accompanied by his co-workers, hurried to the hospital and found his father admitted to the High Dependency Unit (HDU) ward in an unconscious state. Despite the best efforts of the medical team, doctors declared Rajaram dead at 2 PM on Saturday during the course of treatment.
Police reports indicate that Rajaram sustained severe injuries to multiple parts of his body, including his head, chest, nose, and right eye. The extent of these injuries underscores the violent nature of the hit-and-run incident, highlighting the urgent need for accountability and justice in this case.
Legal Action and Ongoing Investigation to Apprehend the Culprit
In response to this tragic event, the Sola Police have registered an offence under sections related to causing death by negligence and hit-and-run against the unknown driver. Authorities are actively examining CCTV footage from the vicinity of Vaishnodevi Circle to identify the vehicle involved and trace the perpetrator. This investigation aims to bring the responsible party to justice and prevent similar incidents in the future.
