Kotwali police station in-charge Daya Shankar Singh confirmed that based on the woman's detailed complaint, a formal case has been registered. The charges fall under section 351(3) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), which pertains to threatening behavior. Singh emphasized that the matter is under active investigation, and appropriate legal action will be taken against the accused soon to ensure justice is served.

This case is directly connected to a sex racket that was busted 12 days ago in the Azad Nagar Colony, under the jurisdiction of the Cantt police station area. During that raid, police arrested a woman involved in the racket, while the main accused managed to flee the scene. The complainant, who resides in the Kotwali police station area, alleged that following this bust, she has faced severe harassment from the accused's family.
Woman Alleges Mental Harassment and Social Media Defamation
The woman stated in her complaint that since the Cantt police arrested a woman from the racket and her husband escaped, the accused's family has been subjecting her to intense mental harassment. They have repeatedly labeled her as an informer, blaming her for the tip-off that led to the arrests during the sex racket bust.
She further alleged that the absconding accused took the harassment to a new level by uploading several of her private videos on various social media platforms. This act has severely damaged her social image and caused her immense mental stress, as she struggles with the public exposure and stigma.

Adding to her ordeal, the woman reported that the accused's parents have continuously threatened to defame her further.
