Tragic End to Domestic Dispute in Chatra Village
A young woman's life came to a tragic end in Chatra district on Tuesday after she allegedly consumed poison following a heated argument with her husband over financial matters. The incident has sent shockwaves through the small community of Majhgawa village under Pratappur police station.
Neha Devi, aged 27, succumbed to poisoning after what began as a domestic dispute took a fatal turn. According to preliminary reports, the argument erupted between Neha and her husband, Rajesh Yadav, concerning money matters that quickly escalated into a serious confrontation.
Emergency Response and Medical Treatment
Following the consumption of poison, family members rushed Neha to the Pratappur Community Health Centre for immediate medical attention. However, recognizing the severity of her condition, doctors at the health center referred her to Chatra Sadar Hospital for advanced treatment facilities.
Tragically, despite being transferred to better medical care, Neha could not be saved. She passed away while undergoing treatment at the hospital, leaving the family and community in mourning.
Police Investigation and Official Statement
Pratappur police station officer-in-charge Alok Ranjan Chaudhary confirmed the incident and outlined the next steps in the investigation. The body has been sent for postmortem examination, and authorities are awaiting the official report to determine the exact cause of death.
"Appropriate action would be taken based on a written complaint from the family," stated Chaudhary, indicating that the police are prepared to proceed with formal proceedings once they receive an official complaint from Neha's relatives.
