BJP Punjab President Questions AAP Leaders' Silence on Paper Leaks
Punjab BJP president Kewal Singh Dhillon on Friday questioned the silence of Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) national convener Arvind Kejriwal and Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann over paper leaks in Punjab. Speaking in Amritsar, where he appointed Salil Kapoor as the BJP district head, Dhillon accused the AAP leaders of exhibiting double standards.
According to Dhillon, while Prime Minister Narendra Modi accepted the resignation of Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan after student demonstrations, Kejriwal and Mann, who supported the Jantar Mantar protest in Delhi, have maintained a stoic silence over paper leaks in Punjab. “These double standards must be called out,” Dhillon asserted.

Earlier in Jalandhar, Dhillon commended Pradhan’s tenure, stating it would be remembered for the reforms he introduced in the education system. “Today, Pradhan quit in the interest of the students so that they can again focus on their studies. We salute his spirit. However, it was not the students but the goons holding the protest in Delhi,” Dhillon said.
The BJP leader’s remarks come amid ongoing controversies over examination paper leaks in various states, including Punjab. The AAP-led Punjab government has faced criticism for its handling of the issue, with opposition parties demanding a thorough investigation.
Ravneet Bittu's Resignation
On the resignation of Ravneet Bittu as Minister of State, Dhillon said, “Bittu was working for the welfare of Punjab and he will continue to do so.” Bittu, a prominent BJP leader from Punjab, stepped down from his central ministerial role earlier this week, though reasons for his resignation have not been officially detailed.
Dhillon’s statements highlight the ongoing political friction in Punjab between the ruling AAP and the opposition BJP, with both parties trading accusations over governance and accountability.
