Bengaluru police have registered two separate cases following incidents of assault at pubs in the city during the Indian Premier League (IPL) finals. The incidents took place late on Thursday night, prompting swift action from law enforcement authorities.
First Incident at We Neighbourhood Pub
According to the police, the first incident occurred at the We Neighbourhood pub located on Residency Road. A 25-year-old man identified as Khushwant Singh was allegedly assaulted by a group of four individuals. The victim sustained injuries and was later admitted to a nearby hospital for treatment. The accused fled the scene after the attack, and a case has been filed under relevant sections of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) for causing hurt and unlawful assembly.
Details of the Assault
Police sources said that the altercation began over a trivial argument, which quickly escalated into a physical scuffle. The four suspects, whose identities are yet to be revealed, were reportedly known to the victim. A team has been formed to trace and apprehend the accused.
Second Incident Elsewhere
In another incident reported from a different pub in the city, a separate case has been booked. While details of the second assault are still emerging, police have confirmed that no serious injuries were reported. Both cases are being investigated separately.
