PM Modi Launches Scathing Attack on TMC Government in West Bengal Rally

Prime Minister Narendra Modi delivered a fiery address at a political rally in Cooch Behar, West Bengal, on Sunday, launching a severe critique of Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee's Trinamool Congress (TMC) administration. The Prime Minister asserted that the TMC government is determined to conduct the "funeral procession" of law and order across the state, creating an atmosphere of fear and instability.

Voters' Mandate and Assurance of Justice

Addressing a massive crowd, PM Modi declared that the overwhelming turnout in Cooch Behar signals the impending end of TMC's rule. "The people of Cooch Behar have made it abundantly clear that the Trinamool Congress's time is up," he proclaimed. He urged citizens not to succumb to intimidation by TMC supporters on polling day, emphasizing trust in legal institutions.

"In this election, fear will be driven out of Bengal. Confidence will awaken through the BJP's grand victory," Modi stated. He provided a firm assurance that following the election results on May 4, a comprehensive reckoning of TMC's alleged misconduct would occur. "I assure you, after this election, a full accounting of their sins will be done. It will be settled one by one. After May 4, the law will take its course, no matter how big a goon it may be, this time justice will be served," he vowed.

Contrast Between Fear and Trust

The Prime Minister drew a sharp comparison between the current administration and the BJP's vision for West Bengal. "On one hand, there is fear of TMC, and on the other hand, you have the trust of BJP. On one hand, there is fear of TMC's cut money and corruption and on the other hand the trust of BJP which can accelerate development," he articulated.

Modi further highlighted concerns about infiltration, pledging that a BJP government would address this issue decisively. "On one hand, there is fear of infiltration, and on the other hand, there is trust in the BJP which can drive away infiltrators from the state," he added, reinforcing his party's commitment to security and development.

Women's Reservation Act and Parliamentary Session

Shifting focus to national initiatives, PM Modi discussed the government's efforts to implement the Women's Reservation Act from the 2029 Lok Sabha elections. He noted that the BJP-led central government has already empowered women through various schemes, including creating 3 crore "Lakhpati Didis."

"We have made 3 crore sisters Lakhpati Didis, but it is very necessary that the role of women increases even more in the decisions being made for the country," Modi emphasized. He announced that a special session of Parliament is scheduled for April 16, 17, and 18 to pass necessary bills for the act's implementation.

"This right of our mothers and sisters has been pending for 40 years. Any further delay is not right," he stated. Modi assured that states with effective population control measures would not face disadvantages in seat allocation, ensuring equitable benefits for all regions.

Allegations Against Constitutional Institutions

PM Modi accused the TMC government of disregarding constitutional bodies, claiming that democracy is suffering under its administration. "Democracy is bleeding every day on the sacred soil of Bengal under the ruthless TMC administration," he asserted.

He referenced recent incidents where judicial officers were besieged in Malda district, prompting Supreme Court intervention. "The situation here is so bad that the Supreme Court had to intervene," Modi said, alleging that TMC is intent on "murdering law and order."

Election Context and Timeline

West Bengal is scheduled to vote in two phases on April 23 and 29, with vote counting set for May 4. The Prime Minister's remarks come amid heightened political tensions in the state, with parties intensifying their campaigns ahead of the crucial polls.

The rally underscored the BJP's strategy to position itself as the alternative to TMC, focusing on issues of governance, security, and women's empowerment while promising accountability and justice post-elections.
